Maya's Preschool Graduation & Monterey's Promotion to Big Tots

We are so proud of our sweet Maya & Monterey. The program started out with the Little Tots singing an ABC song. Upon seeing the crowds, some children did not respond well. Monterey decided to turn around and face the back wall while everyone else faced forward and either sang, waved to their parents, or cried. It was memorable. Not the greatest photo op, but memorable. On the next one, a song about numbers, she got excited to hold up her fingers as the rest of the children sang. Most of the time the fingers were right, but still not much on the performing end.

Next, our sweet Maya came out with the rest of the graduating tots. She led the way. I'm sure it had more to do with the fact that they could count on her to guide the rest of the students to their proper places on not just on the fact that she was a whole head shorter than each and every other student. They marched in to the tradition Pomp and Circumstance, at which Ryan did his exaggerated "Oh pleease." He needed to get into the spirit of it. They called out each child's name, where they will be going to Kinder and what they want to be when they grow up. For Maya, they announced an ice skater. Some of the other kids picked colorful careers such as a princess, spiderman, and a coconut picker. They came forward and got their "diploma" while the audience applauded.

Next. the little tots came back and the whole group performed the Monkey Mambo, Yankee Doodle Dandy, and a sign language rendition of Colors of the Wind. (shown at the bottom of this post in the video)

Afterwards was picture time. Pictures of the Cap & gown. Picture with dad. Picture with mom. Picture with Aunt Karen, Cousin Sterling, and Grandma Diane.

Next the Tots had lunch: chicken nuggets, mini corn dogs, mac & cheese, fruit, carrots, chips, juices, and dessert. I brought the cupcakes. Maya's Request: strawberry cake with strawberry frosting. A strawberry on top with curls of white chocolate. Also chocolate cake with white chocolate frosting and white chocolate curls. Anything to keep my sweethearts happy.

Wow, I can't believe how close Kindergarten is getting. It will be fun to have girls in Kinder at the same time! The video is darling. They did such a good job with signing. How exciting for your new calling, too. I think you will do a great job in Y.W.

I love that picture of Kameron. How fun that they both got to share that together. Next year is a big one for Maya. That video is too much. She's so funny.

You had quite the day! How fun for you and your girls...it's Brittany's promotion today too and I'm still not sure I'm going to let her go. :) It's just all going way too fast but I guess that's what happens. I love the pre-school stage and especially all of the programs. Your girls are in such fun stages and it sounds like you have some fun plans for the summer. Have a great last day of school!
